CappsNC

  • Siemens interface has been updated to enhance communication speed

AATRMI

  • AATRMI can receive the connection requests from the existing network cards, IP address of the available cards is displayed in the notifications window after starting the server

System Configurations

  • The default location of probe model files can now be changed through a machine configuration file
  • A new INI parameter is added in System configuration

  • To control the level of trust in master ball location, it can either adjust the tool offsets or the master ball location depending on parameter status
  • To set maximum scan path simulation points

  • A new Feature Location type option has been added to System Configuration > Report which can be applied to any feature, true position and composite true position outputs. This option allows the user to display location outputs from various different key points of the feature, i.e. bottom of the cylinder, mid section of the cylinder and top, which is especially useful for cylinder, cone and line outputs

Work Offsets

  • Updates on work offsets can be done though CNC Menu without using a CAPPS/PASTRU command
  • Now supports passing String variables in CAPPS/PASTRU command
  • Now supporting FINE Part work offsets (Only available in Siemens interfaces)
  • Enhancements in handling 5-Axis Calibration Offsets
  • CAM Automation offers to automate inspection and machining programs and providing feedback before and after the machining process

Tool Offsets

  • A new setting to indicate if a sensor is working at the tip positon or spindle face has been added to Probe Menu > Define dialog. This setting is available for all 3 axis, 4axis and 5 axis machine configurations. By defining sensor’s work position, the user can switch back and forth between different sensors which work at different tip positions on the same machine, i.e. touch probe and laser sensor. Generated G-Code and data received from the machine will automatically be compensated for any offsets for each of the sensors defined using this setting. 

Calibration

  • Capps can now calibrate without the need of opening a new program
  • Enhancements in displaying points during calibration animation
  • Enhancements in calibration animation
  • Enhancements in Ring Calibration in Siemens direct interfaces
  • Enhancements in calibrating strain–gauge probes in Siemens direct interfaces

Laser

  • Full support for dual laser as well as two independent heads

  • The Scan Path can be controlled through the Depth Parameter

 

Point Clouds

  • A new point cloud engine has been added
  • Measure/extract points from rendered or Triangulated Point Cloud Data
  • Point Cloud Triangulation is optimized to use less memory for the computed triangles
  • Capps now extracts Cones, Cylinders and planes along with Points and Circles from rendered or triangulated Point cloud data.
  • Capps now supports PSL format for exporting and importing point clouds
  • Enhancements in rendering triangulated point cloud data
  • Fixes in circle extraction in point clouds using extracted plane as a work plane
  • Feature Extraction dialog was redesigned to be more user friendly
  • Extracted features now can be ordered by feature name

  • A new right click menu added for quick options on extracted features such as Zoom, Output, Remove etc. 

Feature Filtering

  • A wildcard can be used in filtering features in Pick Features dialog

GD&T

  • Datums features are now available
  • Datums are now included in feature lists along with CAD Tree View
  • Datums have their own menu which allows creating/clearing datum features any point
  • Datums can be cleared by the user any point during the program
  • True Position outputs now supports active, local coordinate system
  • A new set of options has been added to control 1D True Position outputs in the True Position dialog. These options force the user to select a direction such as X, Y, Z, width, length, etc.
  • Composite True Position outputs now uses Patterns 
  • Composite True Position outputs now supports Material Conditions
  • Patterns can be created individually from existing features
  • Pattern outputs includes Pattern Locating Tolerance Zone Framework (PLTZF) and Feature Relating Tolerance Zone Framework (FRTZF)
  • Fixes Distance Between Features dialog
  • New options for calculating Distance Between Features such as average, minimum and maximum, i.e. minimum distance between two circles could be calculated between closes boundaries to each other instead of center to center.

Alignments

  • Alignment Translation dialog now supports CAPPS/LOCKPART for SetToNom option
  • Alignment Translation dialog now has a Preview option
  • Alignment dialogs now display XYZ and ABC data of the current alignment
  • 3D Bestfit Alignment:
  • Has been optimized to minimize errors between selected actual features and their corresponding nominal features
  • Can use Curves, Surfaces and Point Clouds in best fit when Compare to CAD is checked
  • Now has a new option has been added to minimize the profile errors 
  • Now supports applying X, Y, Z and I, J, K constraints 
  • Now supports new controls to apply how each feature is used in the best fit

Reporting

  • New Reporting Tool combines the graphical reporting features, templates, views and saving report options under one dialog to make it easy to create better visual reports. 
  • New Reporting Styles have been added including the Compact 1, 2 and 3
  • Reports now recognize the names of the feature and the datums automatically
  • A new True Position chart has been added to display the direction and magnitude
  • Reporting in Polar Coordinates has been improved which supports reporting features both in polar and cartesian in the same report
  • Support for Spherical Coordinates has been added for both feature outputs and tolerances
  • A new control has been added to support labeling for Cartesian, Polar and Spherical coordinate systems
  • Tolerances for all coordinate systems are now available under GD&T Menu > Tolerances
  • A new option to insert page breaks in to the report has been added to Report Menu. Inserting a page break into the report, also adds a DMIS command for that particular page break
  • Page break is ignored saving reports in any format except RTF. They are also ignored in HTML View 
  • When printing a report, a page break stops printing the current page and starts a new page. Repeated consecutive page breaks adds blank pages in the printed report. If those breaks are at the end of the report, they have no effect.
  • For feature patterns of the same type, user can now report maximum form, average size, maximum size and/or minimum size
  • Report Header dialog has been updated to include up to 20 custom report header items, which the user can add both name and value for each of them (For Classic Report)
  • All of the header items in the Grid Layout header designer could be customizable
  • Enhancements in reporting cone outputs

Feature Construction

  • Capps now supports two new intersection operations, constructing a circle by intersecting two spheres and constructing points by intersecting sphere and circle
  • Capps now will add a nominal feature for any constructed feature
  • Enhancements in breaking a Curve into points
  • Enhancements in Pattern construction
  • Enhancements in Plane and Line construction options to provide offsets 

DMIS and Programming Enhancements

  • Capps can now be started using a batch file using -RSSC command-line parameter
  • Now supports mirroring Views along with DMIS program

  • RECALL/NOMFIL now supports file extensions *.AAT and *. APT
  • Notepad++ is set as the default editor for posted NC programs

    1. CAPPS/Version has been added to support backward compatibility for old CAPPS versions
    2. F(*) = FA(*) and F(*) = F(*) has been added to copy an actual or a nominal to a new nominal feature
    3. CAPPS.ACTUALS.SIZE returns the number of actual features
    4. CAPPS.ACTUALS.FEAT[N].LABEL returns the label name for the actual feature at index N
  • New DMIS commands to access feature data in MCS position, i.e. CR.MCSX, CR.MCSNX etc. 
  • New DMIS commands to access individual point data for a feature, i.e. first point in a circle measurement with 7 points, CR.1.X, CR.3.Y etc. 
  • New DMIS commands has been introduced to load database files such as sensors(*.sns), views(*.vws), datums(*.dat) etc. which indicates the options selected such as overwriting, appending to the existing list for those files. 
  • Improvements are made for creating a list programs to Execute Scheduled Programs
  • New DMIS commands are added to create custom report headers 
  • A new option is added to exclude nominal definition from the output statements in DMIS
  • User can also query the for or size of a feature pattern of the same type, using the OBTAIN or the DOT operator
